Holiday Parade to Return with Harbor Theme

The 66th annual parade is planned for Dec. 1.

The Holiday Parade, a Beverly tradition for 66 years, will return this year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving with the theme "Holidays on the Harbor."

Wendy Kelley of Salem Five Bank, a member of the parade committee, said that no significant changes are planned for this year's event, which is also known as the Santa Parade. It will be on Sunday, Dec. 1.

The parade will start at 1:30 p.m. at Cummings Center and follow the traditional route, heading east on Elliott Street, down Cabot Street through the downtown, then take a right on Broadway, right on Rantoul Street and head back to the Cummings Center.

A grand marshall of the parade has not yet been announced. Last year it was longtime Beverly High School band director Ray Novack.

Anyone who would like to enter a float in the parade or otherwise participate this year is encouraged to contact Kelley at 978-423-9968.
