Is the City's Second Walgreens About to Open?
A second Walgreens store in Beverly - which faced fierce opposition when it was built, will open later this summer or in the fall in North Beverly.
The facade is in place, there's a new sidewalk in front and the parking lot is striped.
But Walgreens officials say that its second store in Beverly - under construction right now at the corner of Conant and Dodge streets in North Beverly - isn't opening for while.
Walgreens spokeswoman Emily Hartwig said no specific opening date has been set, but it is planned to open in late summer or early fall.
The store is still hiring workers, she said. The application process can be started online on the Walgreens website.
The new store is across the street from a CVS and will be the fifth chain drug store location in the city when it opens.
