Beverly Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge After Rantoul Street Stabbing

An early-morning stabbing led to the arrest of a local man on an attempted murder charge.


A Beverly man was arrested on an attempted murder charge early Friday morning after allegedly stabbing someone on Rantoul Street, police said.

Dennis Lassiter, 25, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and malicious destruction of property valued above $250.

At 1:02 a.m., police and fire units responded to 79 Rantoul St., Enterprise Apartments, for a reported stabbing, officer Michael Bocuzzi said.

One person was transported to Beverly Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the alleged attack, Bocuzzi said.
