Have any spooky or strange stories from Beverly? Share your haunted stories here.
Our neighbors in Salem take the prize for being one of the most haunted cities in the country. But over the bridge here in Beverly, we bet residents have their own spooky stories to share. According to theshadowlands.net, a database for haunted locations around the state, Beverly has several haunted locations, including the Conant Street Cemetery, various halls at Endicott College, and the former Briscoe Elementary School. Tonight, Beverly Historical Society will be hosting Witch Stories by Candlelight at the Hale House, where they'll discuss Beverly's role in the witchcraft hysteria of 1692. So, in honor of Halloween approaching, we want you to tell us: do you think Beverly has some haunted spots? Have you ever experienced something …

With heating prices on the rise, when's a good time to turn on your heat? Before Columbus Day? After Halloween?
Brrr! If you're like me, you like to save money wherever you can and that includes heating costs. This year, I'm doing my best to save on heating costs by wrapping up under nearly every blanket in the house. I'm hoping to not turn on the heat until well after Halloween this year, but it's getting chilly! In fact, the North Shore is under a freeze warning until 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures could drop below freezing and even "bring an end to the growing season," according to NWS. It might even be time to turn up the heat. When do you turn on the heat? Have you already had it cranking? Tell us in our comments section!

We want to know what you think. Tell us in the comment section.
Today we remember those who died in the September 11 attacks and their families. In the past 11 years much has changed, but are we any safer? The attacks served as the starting point for the War on Terror which sent millions of men and women into battle, drastic changes in security, economic affects, cultural and foreign policy changes. The day also marked the start of a manhunt, the arrests of several al-Quaeda members, and eventual capture of Osama bin Laden. Today, we reflect on what happened on that horrific morning and all that has happened since. We want to know what you think: Is America a safer place today?

One restaurant in L.A. is offering a 5 percent discount to patrons who ditch their phones during their meal. Would you like to see this around here?
Face it, if there were a way to grow a third arm specifically to hold your cell phone, many of us would jump at the chance. But running counter to the "can't live without a connection" population is one restaurant in Los Angeles that is paying customers to keep their phones away from their meal, according to the Los Angeles Times. Eva Restaurant in L.A. is offering diners a 5 percent discount on their bill if they dump their digital devices before being seated, according the L.A. Times. Is this something that you'd like to see happen at any of the nice restaurants around here? Or does the idea of ditching your phone during dinner start to make you twitch?
