Top-Seeded Boys Hockey Cruises to Sectional Final

The Panthers allowed a goal less than a minute into the game versus Lincoln-Sudbury, but bounced back nicely for the win.

Lincoln-Sudbury scored early. But top-ranked Beverly took care of the often on Monday night during the North Division 2 semifinal round.

The Warriors scored just 59 seconds into the game when Myles Cohen lit the lamp and gave No. 4 Lincoln-Sudbury the early edge.

But four minutes and one second later Beverly knotted things up and the Panthers were back in the lead 15 seconds after that tally, gaining momentum as they eventually cruised to a 5-1 victory.

With the victory, Beverly will play in the North Division 2 title game for the first time in program history. The Panthers will take on No. 3 Tewksbury next Monday at Lowell's Tsongas Center. Puck drops at 6 p.m.

Lincoln-Sudbury, meanwhile, ends the season with a record of 13-3-5.
