Panther Forward is Finalist for 'Miss Soccer' Award

Caitlin Harty is one of 10 finalists for the "Miss Soccer" award from ESPN Boston.

A forward on the Beverly High School girls soccer team is one of 10 statewide finalists for ESPN Boston's Miss Soccer award.

Caitlin Harty is the finalist, joining players from Concord-Carlisle, Central Catholic and Newburyport on the list.

The finalists were named on Thursday and the winner was slated to be announced on Friday.

The senior is also an indoor track and outdoor track star and a top-ranked student.

She is headed to College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, a Division 1 program, next fall, the Salem News reported in July.

This season, she has already earned Northeastern Conference Most Valuable Player honors, reported the Salem News in October, and led her team in scoring for the second-straight year with 41 goals. She had 50 goals last year.

Harty helped lead the Panthers to the Northeastern Conference championship and Division 2 North semifinals this fall, getting bumped in a 2-1 loss to Concord-Carlisle. C-C goalkeeper Angela DeBruzzi is one of the other Miss Soccer finalists.
