Multiple Beverly Students Vying for Hood Scholarship

Residents can vote for candidates on the Hood website, with national winners receiving $5,000.

There are plenty of student-athletes in the halls of Beverly High School deserving of recognition.

Several Panthers in particular are close to receiving that recognition thanks to the annual Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program. But they need the community's help.

Seven Beverly students are finalists for the national award, which will give the 18 winning entries $5,000 each.

Residents are encouraged to vote for the winner now through April 18 at 3 p.m. Each entry includes an essay on why the participant should be selected for the scholarship.

Melanie DeCeglia, Shamus Desmond, Joseph Kozlowski, Jackson Martz, Lindsay Tocco, Cambden Vitale and Nicole Woods are Beverly's representatives in the contest.
