Cold and Snow To Extend School Vacation

Weather has prompted school in Beverly to be cancelled on Thursday and Friday.

Beverly Public Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday because of forecasted cold temperatures and a snowstorm, it was announced on Wednesday morning.

The “Swift 911” phone call came at about 11 a.m. from the school district, announcing that Interim School Superintendent Dr. Albert Argenziano has extended the holiday break by two days. Schools will reopen on Monday.

“Extreme cold and heavy snow forecast will move the reopening of school to Monday, Jan. 6,” the announcement stated.

The holiday break was scheduled to end on Thursday, with students heading back to a full day of school on Thursday and Friday.

School offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday and closed on Friday.
