Beverly and Wellesley High Principals Among Finalists to be New Superintendent

Public interviews are scheduled for mid-November with the four finalists to become the new school superintendent in Beverly.

Beverly High School Principal Sean Gallagher and Wellesley High School Principal Andrew Keough are two of the four finalists to become the next superintendent of the Beverly Public Schools.

Other finalists are Dr. Steven Hiersche, interim executive director of ACCEPT Education Collaborative in Natick and Dr. Christopher Malone, assistant superintendent of pupil personnel service at Revere Public Schools. Malone was as assistant principal at Beverly High School from 2003-2005. Hiersche was previously the school superintendent in Framingham, Plymouth and Watertown.

The announcement was made on Thursday afternoon by Dr. Albert Argenziano, the interim superintendent of schools in Beverly.

Public interviews with all four finalists have been scheduled for mid-November. All interviews will happen in the library at Beverly High School, starting with Gallagher at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Later on Nov. 12, Malone will be interviewed at 6:15 p.m.

Then on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Keough will be interviewed at 4 p.m.

The interviews will end with Hiersche on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. Argenziano will then hold a wrap-up session at 6 p.m.

The School Committee is charged with selecting the new superintendent.
