Mayoral Forum to Focus on Public Safety Issues

Beverly public safety officials will host a mayoral forum on Thursday night.

Public safety officials from the Beverly police and fire departments are hosting a mayoral debate on Thursday evening.

The debate starts at 6 p.m. at the Franco-American Club on Park Street. The forum will be moderated with a panel of questioners from the police and fire departments. The public is invited to attend but questions will not be taken from the audience.

Mayoral candidates Mike Cahill and Wes Slate will participate.

The questions will focus on four topics: stations and equipment, regional dispatch, staffing levels and labor relations.

The event is scheduled to last about two hours. BevCam plans to cover it and air it at later dates and times.
