Beverly resident Kerry Healey announced her Senate decision Monday.

Beverly resident Kerry Healey announced Monday that will not be running for U.S. Senate in this April's special election, the Boston Globe is reporting.

The former lieutenant governor told the Globe that she was "grateful for the advice of those who urged her to get into the race but said she’s decided against it."

Healey's announcement follows Richard Tisei and Tagg Romney's decisions to opt out of the race, as well.
