Candidates for Governor Coming to Beverly for Forum

A candidates forum with Massachusetts gubernatorial candidates has been scheduled in Beverly for early August.

The candidates for Massachusetts governor are coming to Beverly next month for a forum.

It is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Beverly High School, starting at 10 a.m.

An announcement about the event did not specify which candidates plan to appear. Candidates for governor include Democrats state Treasurer Steve Grossman, state Attorney General Martha Coakley and Don Berwick; Republicans Charlie Baker and Mark Fisher and independent candidates Evan Falchuk, Jeff McCormick and Scott Lively.

The primary election is Tuesday, Sept. 9, when the Republican and Democratic Party fields will be narrowed to one candidate. The general election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The forum is being arranged by the Aging and Disability Resource Consortium of the Greater North Shore. It is free and open to the public.
