Two Juveniles Charged As Accomplices in Folger Avenue Arson Fire

Two 15 and 17-year-old boys will be charged in connection to an arson fire on Folger Avenue in the Ryal Side neighborhood of Beverly on Sunday night.

Two male juveniles, in addition to a 19-year-old adult, are facing charges in connection to Sunday night’s fire on Folger Avenue in Beverly.

A combined statement from State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan, Beverly Police Chief John G. LeLacheur and Beverly Fire Chief Paul Cotter said two juveniles will be charged in connection with an arson fire at 36 Folger Ave. on Sunday, July 13.

The charges against the two juveniles is in addition to the arrest of Zach Pavia, 19, of 5 Crescent Ave. in Beverly, which was announced on Thursday morning. Pavia has been charged with 10 counts of arson, 13 counts of malicious destruction of property over $250, one count of breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony and one count of trespassing.

The two juvenile males, 15 and 17-years-old, will be summonsed to juvenile court and charged with one count of accessory before the fact, one count of breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony and one count of trespassing. Juvenile court proceedings happen in private.

Tips to the statewide Arson Hotline, 1-800-682-9229, were helpful in solving this case, according to Jennifer Mieth, spokeswoman for State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan.. The Arson Hotline is part of the Arson Watch Reward Program sponsored by the property and casualty insurance underwriting companies in Massachusetts. It provides rewards of up to $5,000.
