Two Charged After Convenience Store Robbery

Two young men from Beverly are facing charges after allegedly robbing a Beverly convenience store with a knife on Tuesday evening.

Two people were arrested on Tuesday night after an armed robbery at the Corner Variety store at the corner of Hale and Lothrop streets.

Stephen Robinson 21, of Beverly and a Beverly juvenile were charged with armed robbery while masked.

An armed robbery with a knife was reported just before 5:30pm on Tuesday evening. Officers arrived to find that a male wearing a mask and brandishing a knife entered the store and demanded cigarettes. The male
fled on foot with five packs of cigarettes and headed in the direction of Central Cemetery, which is across the street from the store.

A description of the suspects was given out to responding officers and
detectives found the two males in the cemetery. Detectives also found cigarettes on both males and a black folding knife from Robinson, police said, plus a mask was found discarded in the cemetery.

Officers Kevin Coletti, Daniel Divincenzo, and Mark Panjwani responded to the
call and were assisted by Officer Mike Henebury, Sgt. Detective Dave Faustino, and Detective Darlene Prinz.
