Teen Charged With Arson in Connection to Ryal Side Inferno

Ten counts of arson has been filed against a 19-year-old Beverly man in connection to a three-alarm fire on Sunday night.

A Beverly teenager has been arrested and charged with arson in connection to Sunday night’s inferno that leveled two homes under construction and damaged several others on Folger Avenue, according to the Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett’s office.

Zackary H. Pavia, 19, was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with 10 counts of arson of a dwelling, 13 counts of destruction of property over $250 and breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and trespassing.

Pavia is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Salem District Court, according to the District Attorney’s office.

Nobody was injured in the three-alarm fire in the Bass River Estates development in the Ryal Side neighborhood.

An investigation by the Beverly Police and Fire Departments and the State Fire Marshall’s Office led to the arrest.
