Fire Tears Through Shed at Farms Condo Building

A trash shed was destroyed and nobody was injured in a Thursday evening fire in Beverly Farms.

A trash shed was destroyed by fire outside a condominium building in Beverly Farms on Thursday evening, but damage was limited to a nearby garage and kept far away from any homes.

Nobody was injured in the fire, said Beverly Fire Department Deputy Chief Peter O'Connor.

The fire was first reported at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday as a house fire, said Beverly Police officer Ken Rollins.

When firefighters arrived they found that it was instead a detached trash shed that was burning in the parking lot of a multi-million dollar condominium building at 54 Oak St.

The shed was destroyed and trees and a power line above the shed were also burned. The fire also spread to a corner of a nearby garage.

"It was just a wall of fire right here," O'Connor said, pointing at the area where the trash shed was located, to the side of the driveway near the street.
