Suspicious Man Turns Out to Be Local Birder

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log:


Monday, March 3:

  • At 4:56 p.m., police responded to a report of drug activity on Dodge Street.
  • At 5:33 p.m., police responded to a report of wires down near the intersection of Desmond Road and Sunnyvale Street.
  • At 6:55 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man in dark clothing on Pond Street. The man told police he was taking pictures of birds.
  • At 7:03 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Brimbal Avenue.
  • At 8:41 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rantoul Street.

Tuesday, March 4:

  • At 1:23 a.m., a Brimbal Hill Drive resident called police to report that she could hear someone trying to break into her car.
  • At 7:16 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Columbia Road.
  • At 7:28 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Wedgemere Road.
  • At 8:30 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a taxi and a school bus near the intersection of Park and Creek streets.
  • At 9:02 a.m., police responded to a report of vandalism on Henderson Road.
  • At 11:50 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street.
