Beverly Man Arrested on Drug, Drunk Driving Charges

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log: 

Friday, March 7:
 

  • At 6:32 p.m., police responded to a report of a black car against a pole on Dodge Street. David J. Cook, 51, of 7 Newbury St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, illegally possessing a class C substance and two counts of illegally possessing a class B substance.
  • At 6:39 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Blaine Avenue.
  • At 7:28 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Bridge Street.
  • At 7:39 p.m., police conducted a well-being check near the intersection of Herrick and Heather streets.
  • At 9:14 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Morningside Drive.
  • At 9:44 p.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted guest on Pleasant Street.

Saturday, March 8

  • At 12:20 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Rantoul Street.
  • At 1:40 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Bartlett Street.
  • At 1:57 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Pleasant Street.
  • At 7:15 a.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Dodge Street. The alarm was reportedly caused by a furnace blowback.
  • At 8:11 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Meadow Road. 
  • At 9:27 a.m., police responded to a report of a man yelling for help near the intersection of McKay and Elliott streets.
  • At 9:35 a.m., police responded to a report of protestors harassing customers on Elliott Street.
  • At 11:06 a.m., police responded to a reported hit-and-run motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Elliott Street and McPherson Drive.
  • At 12:09 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Beaver Pond Road.
  • At 1:58 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Railroad Avenue.
  • At 5:49 p.m., police responded to a report of a man assaulted by youths on Lothrop Street.
  • At 9:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man in a store on Dodge Street.
  • At 9:32 p.m., police responded to a multi-car motor vehicle accident on Sohier Road. Five people were transported to Beverly Hospital.
  • At 11:09 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident.

Sunday, March 9

  • At 12:03 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Elliott Street.
  • At 1:48 a.m., police responded to a report of two men fighting in the street on Elliott Street.
  • At 1:49 p.m., police assisted a man who was found sleeping in a vehicle near the intersection of Cabot and Water streets.
  • At 5:02 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman causing a disturbance at a bar on Rantoul Street.
Other Arrests

Nicholas E. Skoniecki, 21, of 4 Duck Pond Road, Beverly, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Julius D. Patterson Jr., 26, of 114 Northridge Road, Beverly, was arrested on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
