Beverly Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log: 


Friday, April 18

  • At 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Columbus Avenue.
  • At 6:05 p.m., police made an arrest on Cabot Street.
  • At 6:51 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bow Street.
  • At 10:03 p.m., police responded to a loud house party on Ellsworth Avenue.
  • At 10:45 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Cabot Street. Corey M. Lewis, 22, of 11 Whitney Ave., Beverly, was arrested on charges of assault and battery and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Saturday, April 19

  • At 1:52 a.m., police responded to a report of a person knocking on windows on Rantoul Street.
  • At 2:19 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Elliott Street.
  • At 3:16 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Cabot Street.
  • At 5:29 a.m., police responded to a report of a couple yelling in the street near the intersection of Rantoul and Creek streets
  • At 8:22 a.m., police responded to a report of a vandalized vehicle on Rantoul Street.
  • At 9:00 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Hart Street. Two vehicles were reportedly entered.
  • At 9:49 a.m., police responded to a report of recent car break-ins near the intersection of Hart and Valley streets.
  • At 10:14 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Bridge Street.
  • At 10:16 a.m., police responded to a fight between landlord and tenant on Park Street. Joseph A. Ciampa, 39, of 2623 South Hobson St., Philadelphia, Pa., was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
  • At 11:32 a.m., police responded to a small mulch fire on Elliott Street.
  • At 12:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a man videotaping in the men's room at the Burger King on Rt. 128. 
  • At 3:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a man changing his clothes behind a bush on Cabot Street.
  • At 6:12 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Dodge Street.
  • At 7:08 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Elliott Street.
  • At 7:26 p.m., an officer disposed of two hypodermic needles discovered on Rantoul Street.
  • At 8:54 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Park Street.
  • At 9:02 p.m., police responded to a report of a dog chasing cars on Bates Park Avenue.
  • At 9:20 p.m., police responded to a past assault on Amherst Road.
  • At 10:29 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Longview Drive. Paul S. Gasperoni, 38, of 49 Cole St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, illegally possessing a class B substance and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:58 p.m., police responded to a loud house party on Dane Street. 

Sunday, April 20

  • At 12:51 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Elliott Street.
  • At 1:41 a.m., a stolen vehicle was recovered on Livingstone Avenue.
  • At 3:03 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street.
  • At 7:11 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on River Street.
  • At 7:20 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Beverly Commons Drive.
  • At 3:13 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street.
  • At 5:35 p.m., police responded to a past assault near the intersection of Elliott and Greene streets. Timothy S. Share, 26, of 176 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • At 5:54 p.m., police responded to a report of fire on the railroad tracks on McPherson Drive. An underground track switch caught on fire and the electrical issue was fixed.
  • At 8:57 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Sohier Road.
  • At 9:23 p.m., police made an arrest on Rantoul Street.
  • At 12:54 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist near the intersection of Lothrop and Dane streets.
  • At 3:31 p.m., weapons were turned over to police for destruction.
  • At 6:07 p.m., police responded to a heroin overdose on Arthur Street.
Other Arrests

Dennis Gauthier, 44, of 30 Elsworth Ave., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Liam R. MacKenzie, 24, of 26 West Dane St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of providing a false name to police and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.

Michael J. Jordan, 59, of 15 Veterans Way, Lowell, was arrested on charges of assault and battery and violating the city's open container ordinance.

Shawn R. Young, 41, of 229 Highland St., South Hamilton, was arrested on charges of trespassing and larceny over $250.
