McKay Street Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log: 


Monday March 10

  • At 4:09 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Cabot Street.
  • At 4:34 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Park Street.
  • At 5:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a reported animal bite on Bow Street. A resident who reported a squirrel scratch did not answer when police arrived.
  • At 6:39 p.m., police responded to a report of a vandalized vehicle on Northridge Road.
  • At 639 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Broughton Drive.
  • At 6:58 p.m., police responded to a report of identity theft on Sohier Road.
  • At 9:14 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rantoul Street.

Tuesday, March 11

  • At 2:23 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man outside of a building on Enon Street.
  • At 10:45 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of McKay and Elliot streets. Jamie L. Stavros, 31, of 4 Sophia Road, Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, two counts of illegally possessing a class B substance and resisting arrest.
  • At 11:33 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Kelleher Road.
  • At 12:11 p.m., police and fire units responded to a report of an unresponsive person on Manor Road.
  • At 12:13 p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted vehicle break-in on Rantoul Street.
  • At 1:58 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Cabot and Water streets.
