St. Hilaire Kicks Off Campaign for City Council At-Large

Officially launches a bid for one of the three At-Large City Council seats in Beverly.

BEVERLY, MA – Matt St. Hilaire, officially kicked off his campaign for City Council At-Large in Beverly on Thursday night at Chianti Tuscan Restaurant.  Special guests included Essex County Sheriff Frank Cousins who welcomed the capacity crowd of more than 100 guests and former Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei who introduced St. Hilaire.

“I am excited to kick off my campaign for City Council At-Large here in my hometown of Beverly!” St. Hilaire declared.  “I am running for City Council because I believe Beverly is at a critical crossroad and with experience working in government at the Governor’s Office, in leadership roles at the highest levels of the Massachusetts political arena and in the private sector I am uniquely qualified to serve as a City Councilor and help lead Beverly forward as we enter a new era.”

St. Hilaire, 36, is a Beverly native and is a graduate of Beverly High School’s class of 1995.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University in 1999 and served as an Aide on the staff of Governor’s Paul Cellucci and Jane Swift at the State House.  He has also held leadership positions with a number of high profile political campaigns and is currently employed as a Recruiter and Social Media Manager in the private sector.

“For those of you who don’t know me well - I’m a Beverly guy.  I grew up in Beverly and attended Beverly public schools.” St. Hilaire said.  “As a husband and father of three young kids; I am deeply invested in the future of Beverly and I am committed to ensuring that Beverly’s future is as bright for the next generation as it was for mine.”

 There are five candidates vying for three At-Large City Council seats.  The election will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.
