Nominations Open for Beverly's Best Businesses

The nomination period is open for the Greater Beverly Chamber Of Commerce Annual Business Awards.

Nominations are open for awards in eight categories for this year’s Greater Beverly Chamber Of Commerce Annual Business Awards.

The dinner event is scheduled for Feb. 27 is designed to show the “business talent and the entrepreneurial spirit that exists within our business community,” according to the Chamber.

Jo Broderick, Dean of College Relations at Montserrat College of Art, will again be the Master of Ceremonies.

“Nominating is an opportunity for you to recognize an inspirational business person or favorite place to do business,” said Chamber Executive Director, John Somes. “It could be a colleague, customer, family member or friend.”

Nominations will be accepted in the following categories: Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Family Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Corporate Citizen, Non-Profit and Sole Proprietor of the Year. Ann nominations can be made on the Chamber website at www.GreaterBeverlyChamber.com.

The Chamber service area includes Beverly, Danvers, Hamilton and Wenham.

The Leslie S. Ray Hall of Fame Award will also be presented to William Scanlon, past Beverly mayor who decided not to seek reelection in 2013 after serving as mayor for 18 of the past 20 years.

"The business awards is a way of recognizing our present and future leaders," said Doreen Lucido, Chamber Board President and Vice President of Eastern Bank, in announcing the nomination period. "We are pleased to not only have the opportunity to celebrate these accomplishments, but also to recognize the finest and most skilled community leaders."

Tickets to the dinner event are available online at the Chamber website or by calling the chamber at 978-232-9559. Tickets are $65 per person and includes a dinner and cash bar from 5:30-8:00 at Danversport Yacht Club.
