Lam said he spotted the vacant restaurant building in the Cabot Crossing plaza in the Gloucester Crossing neighborhood this summer when he was headed to the waterfront with his daughter to launch his boat.

The chain has two locations in Lowell, where it was founded, plus a location in an outlet mall in Merrimack, N.H. Lam said he will own the franchised location in Beverly. Lam said he was introduced to the business because he knows the founder, who is also from Lowell.
