'Angie' to Join Christmas Tour with Christian Star

Angie Miller will be part of Michael Smith's Christmas tour this December.

Angie Miller of Beverly will be joining a new tour this holiday season.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Miller is teaming up with Christian singer Michael W. Smith to be the opening act for Smith's Christmas tour.

The tour will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 15 with stops mostly in the south and midwest. The closest the tour will get to Beverly is a Dec. 1 stop in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Miller “brings an excitement and enthusiasm to the shows that I think will be energizing,” Smith told the Reporter in a statement.

Miller said, in a similar announcement, that she has been singing Smith’s songs her whole life at her church – now Remix Church is Salem where her father Guy is the pastor and before that Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield.

The tour is the latest set of performances for Miller, who is working hard to capitalize on her popularity after finishing third on American Idol season 12 in May.

She is a 2012 graduate of Beverly High School who was welcomed home with a parade and free concert for 15,000 people in May after she was named of the three finalists on this season’s show.

She spent the summer on tour with the American Idol Live tour and earlier this month performed on the grandstand stage at the Topsfield Fair.
