Beverly Storm Center: Some Businesses Reopen, Trains Delayed

Friday, 10 a.m. WCVB-TV 5 broadcasts live from Middlebury Lane and other Centerville streets, saying it is the most snow they have seen from the storm.

Friday, 10 a.m. Depot Liquors in North Beverly says it will be open on Friday.

Friday, 9:45 a.m. Half Baked Cafe in Beverly Farms announces it is open for the day.

Friday, 9:30 a.m. State courts, which had originally planned to open at noon on Friday, announces that all courts will be closed all day on Friday.

Friday, 9 a.m. Bass River Tennis Club announces it will open at 10 a.m.

Friday, 7 a.m. Little Italy Pizza it will open regular hours on Friday.

Friday, 6:15 a.m. The MBTA says inbound commuter rail train 156, which typically leaves at 6:30 a.m. from Newburyport, is cancelled because of mechanical problems. The following trains at Beverly Depot will be at 7:20 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Friday, 5:30 a.m. The MBTA announces that inbound commuter rail train 156, which typically leaves Newburyport at 6:30 a.m. and stops at North Beverly at 6:53 a.m.and Beverly Depot at 6:58 a.m., is running 30 minutes late because of mechanical problems.

Friday, 4 a.m. The National Weather Service issues a wind chill advisory that is in effect through 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Thursday, 9 p.m. Beverly Public Library announces it will be closed on Friday.

Thursday, 8 p.m. A total of 16 inches of snow are on the ground and it is 2 degrees.

Thursday, 4:15 p.m. The National Weather Service now says that Beverly should expect 14-18 inches of snow by the time the storm is over on Friday.

Thursday, 4 p.m. The National Weather Services issues a blizzard warning for eastern Essex County, including Beverly, through 11 a.m. on Friday.

Thursday, 3:45 p.m. A total of 9 inches of snow has fallen and the temperature is 13 degrees.

Thursday, 2:45 p.m. Salem Five announces all of its branches, including its Beverly location, will close at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Thursday, 2:15 p.m. The Massachusetts Trial Court announces that courthouses statewide will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday and will have a delayed opening on Friday at noon. 

Thursday, 1:30 p.m. Gov. Deval Patrick announces that state offices will close at 3 p.m.

Thursday, 1 p.m. There is 6.5 inches of snow on the ground and it is 22 degrees.

Noon. Beverly Airport is closed down, according to Flightstats.com, and not expected to reopen until at least 7 a.m. on Friday. 

Thursday, 11:30 a.m. The National Weather Service warns that wind chill could reach -15 degrees on Thursday night. Also, a winter storm warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. on Friday.

Thursday, 10 a.m. A parking ban is enacted, going into effect at 4 p.m. on Thursday and running up to 48 hours.
