Amenities and Graduation Rate Help Put Beverly at No. 12 in State

A real estate blog ranked the top places to live in Massachusetts.

Beverly has been named as the 12th best city in Massachusetts, according to the real estate blog Movoto.

The Garden City was behind North Shore neighbors Gloucester (3) and Salem (9) and ahead of Danvers (18) and Peabody (46).

Movoto took into account factors such as cost of living, crime rate, amenities and education into its analysis. Beverly's highest ranking was for "amenities" followed by its high school graduation rate.

The list used data to rank the 75 largest communities, by population, in the state, out of the 351 communities in the state.

Beverly's history, crime rate and home values were some of the other top-rated factors that also helped put it at No. 12
