Rosalia Velazquez Joins Board Of North Shore United Way

Rosalia Velazquez, the new director of the Council on Aging in Salem, has joined the Board of Directors of the North Shore United Way.

Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll appointed Ms. Velazquez to the Council on Aging post in early March.  As a nonprofit leader with twenty-five years of executive management experience, Velazquez is a former regional United Way president and has directed a number of healthcare-oriented nonprofits.  Most recently she worked for three years as executive director of AccessHealth Tri-County Network, a nonprofit coalition of healthcare providers in North Charleston, SC.  She also served as chief of strategy and operations for the United Way of the Bay Area, in San Francisco and in the late 90s as president of the United Way of Central Massachusetts in Worcester.  Ms. Velazquez lives in Salem, MA.
