NSUW's Women in Action "Seeding a Cause" Event Raises Over $6,500 For Local Kids and Families

The North Shore United Way’s Women in Action held their Seeding a Cause luncheon on Thursday, April 3rd at the greenhouse at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly.  The sold out event raised over $6,500 that will go directly to this year’s Women in Action grants to grassroots programs and creative solutions that increase access to healthy food and physical activity for local kids and their families.  Billed as Not Your Average Luncheon, guests at the event planted 12,824 seeds for The Food Project and then enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Chive with featured speaker, Phoebe Poole, Farm Manager of Apple Street Farm in Essex.  Seeding a Cause was generously underwritten by Beverly Hospital as the lead sponsor, with Green Meadows Farm and individual, private sponsorship so that 100% of the proceeds could directly impact local kids and their families.  To learn more, visit http://www.nsuw.org
