Celebrate Life Through Softball 2013 in honor of Nancy Borders

Friday Aug 23rd at Harry Ball the first annual Celebrate Life Through Softball tournament begins and runs all day Saturday and Sunday.  Six teams from in and around the north shore will participate to help raise funds and claim bragging rights.  The tournament will honor something and someone special each year. This year the tournament will honor Nancy Borders. Nancy passed away February 28, 2013 following a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Tournament organizer Jenn Carter says, “Through the years living in Beverly and playing softball in momball and BWSL, I have come to meet the most amazing people.  Much too often we see the glass half empty instead of full.  It's human nature to look at what we don't have rather than celebrate what we do. We have life, friendship and love. This is why I chose to celebrate life through softball. This tournament has a tree of life inside of a softball as our logo to represent life.”

Jenn goes on to say, “I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy through our Beverly women's softball league. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her positive attitude, sense of humor and love of life.”
