Wellness Fair Scheduled for Wednesday at Acapulco's

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily source for community events, happenings in the city and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

1. Cold: It will be another cold day, with a high temperature around 16 plus gusty winds that will blow around the new snow. The sun is expected to eventually come out by the afternoon.

2. Wellness: Acapulcos at the Cummings Center is hosting the 2nd Annual Wellness Fair on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help "get your wellness plan organized for the New Year all in one place." Vendors from Cummings Center with expertise in nutrition, massage, fitness, yoga, Reiki, chiropractic care, hypnosis, and counseling/psychotherapy will be attend, along with food provided by Acapulcos.

3. State Budget: Gov. Deval Patrick is slated to unveil his proposed fiscal 2015 budget on Wednesday. Even though the State of the Commonwealth, originally scheduled for Tuesday night, was postponed, Patrick said the proposed budget will be released on Wednesday.

4. Business Plan: If you are interested in entering the North of Boston Business Plan competition this year, the information session originally scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Enterprise Center at Salem State University has been rescheduled. It will now happen on Thursday from 4-5 p.m.

5. Technology Council: The North Shore Technology Council was scheduled to meet on Wednesday morning at Danversport Yacht Club. The breakfast event, titled "Economic Outlook 2014: Promising Growth for Social Media and High Tech" was to start at 7 a.m. but it has been postponed. The new date is March 26.
