Participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's! Volunteer your time for a great cause. Alzheimer's Disease is the largest underfunded public health threat facing our nation today, and is growing at an epidemic rate. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support, and research. You are more than welcome to participate on our team named Private Home Care Walkers 2012.

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.  As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond today’s estimated 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s. The disease has a significant impact on family members, with nearly 15 million providing care to a loved one, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the walk, with 3-mile and 1-mile options, kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on September 29, 2012. The event includes food, music and entertainment.

Donations are welcome and any donations of $50 or more will be acknowledged. To donate please make checks payable to the Alzheimer's Association and send them to 183 Pleasant Street Marblehead, MA 01945. If you have any questions please call 781-639-8696 or add Mary Demarkes on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/mary.demakes.
