New York Times Bestselling Author Michael Thompson to speak about Male Achievement in Schools

Join us for An Autumn Evening at Project Adventure, October 20th at 6 pm

Michael Thompson, Ph.D. will speak about the current growing achievement gap between girls and boys in schools at An Autumn Evening Fundraising Event at Project Adventure on October 20, 2012 at 6pm. Dr. Thompson has authored nine books focusing on the social and emotional lives of boys, friendships and social cruelty in childhood and the psychological aspects of school leadership. He is the author of the bestselling book Raising Cain:  Protecting the Emotional Lives of Boys and his most recent book is Homesick and Happy:  How Time Away from Parents Can Help a Child Grow.

Project Adventure is an international educational non-profit which works with numerous schools, students and educators around the North Shore. They are a pioneer and leader in Adventure-based experiential programming which uses active learning to build character, promote team work, develop physical and emotional fitness and encourage responsibility. Project Adventure programs and trainings provide the tools for schools, youth agencies and corporations to implement experience-based learning programs to effect positive change. Their research-driven programs and products yield measurable results.
