Vigil for Newtown Elementary School Victims Tonight in Beverly

In the wake of the Newtown, CT shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Beverly residents are hosting a moment of silence at Beverly Common, Friday at 6:30 p.m.

"Meet on the Beverly commons, BYOC..bring your own candle. No talk, just try to meet up at 6:30, flick on a few lights, and disperse. If you aren't in Beverly, and want or need to be there, be there in spirit," the event says on Facebook.

The event will be held until 6:50 p.m.
