Leo Patten picked a special day to enter the world: 12-12-12.

Earlier in the year when parents Russ and Jayne Madigan-Patten found out their baby boy's due date was Dec. 12, they thought a 12-12-12 birthday would be fun and interesting, but didn't figure he'd actually be born that day.

But this morning, the family, who reside in Marblehead, welcomed 9 lb. 8 oz. Leo at Beverly Hospital.

"Everyone's very healthy, very happy," Russ said.

Leo joins his older sister, 2-year-old Camille.
