The city has called for an emergency parking ban in light of the snow storm heading into the region tonight.
An automated message from Public Services Commissioner Michael Collins this afternoon says the ban starts at 8 p.m. and on-street parking will be prohibited for the duration of the ban.
The ban will be in effect for 48 hours or longer if necessary. More information and and a list of available municipal parking lots can be found on the city's website.
"Vehicles in the roadway tonight will be towed. Help your neighbors by shoveling your sidewalk and assist those that are unable. Don't throw snow into the street and be safe if you must go out," said Collins.
